Dear Lillian:
Number 41 passed on the CDs from Jeff Senour and Tom Zart.
Thank you for thinking of me.
I am thankful for your efforts to honor our brave military personnel and
their families. America owes these courageous men and women a debt of gratitude,
and I am honored to be the commander in chief of the greatest force for freedom in the history of the world.
Best Wishes.
Sincerely,
George W. Bush

Patriotic Poetry by Tom Zart Soldier of the Lord
KENNEDY- THE WAR YEARS PT-109
After the attack on Pearl Harbor
He applied for sea duty in the war.
Where Lieutenant John F. Kennedy
Became known for his bravery and more.
In the dark hours before dawn
On August 2, of 43.
Kennedy commanded a torpedo boat
Through the blackness of night at sea.
PT 109, was on Solomon's patrol
With a 12-man crew in a plywood craft.
A Japanese destroyer plowed through the night
Ramming and cutting Kennedy's boat in half.
Two of the crew just disappeared
A third was badly burned.
Kennedy himself was thrown to the deck,
Where in pain his leadership he earned.
Some of his men had never learned to swim
As he gathered them on the bobbing bow.
The hours passed till it seemed it would sink
So they made for an island and here's how.
He ordered those who could to swim
The others were to hang on to a beam.
Kennedy grabbed the injured sailor
And off they tread through the ocean stream.
With his teeth clenched on the burnt mans vest straps
Skipper Kennedy swam 3 miles.
5 hours later they all made it
Despite their hardships, sharks, and trials.
The next problem was how to summon up help
Without arousing the enemy all around.
After several attempts swimming to other islands
Eventually two natives in a canoe were found.
Kennedy scratched a note on a coconut
To be delivered to a base 38 miles away.
The message made it and they were saved
And their courage still lives us today.

LETTERS FROM OUR LISTENERS
Dear Friends and Acquaintances:
Below is a message I received from a friend, the wife of Patrick's First Sergeant who came to visit with us after his return from Iraq in 04. Rob, now Sgt Major, is now back in Baghdad and has a wish list for his troops and children in the area where he is located.
I hope you will all find it in your heart to read this letter and be moved to send a package with some of the items requested. Instructions and address also included. If any of you have groups who could help, this would be awesome.
Thank you for your time and consideration to contribute to our great men and women of this nation as they serve others.
Sincerely and our best,
Deb & Dave Tainsh
Hello to everyone! I hope this email finds you ALL well.
Well, I finally have an address for Rob. He is now in Iraq, south of Baghdad in a town called Kalsue or Kalsu? He says he is adjusting well, although it was very hard to adjust to the 100+ degrees, considering this summer here in Anchorage it did not get any higher than 76 degrees.
Please remember, NO rank on the package or envelope. NO religious material. And NO girlie magazines. Otherwise send what you want, when you want. He is dying to get some mail!!! Snacks, to include any type of jerky or slim jims, suckers, tootsie rolls, little bags of peanuts, HE WOULD LOVE SOME HOME MADE COOKIES, powered drink mix (sugar free) like kool-aid and any of the Tea flavors, he does not care what brand generic or other wise. toiletry items like bars of soap, moist towelettes, Q-tips, tissue packets for his pockets, BREATHE MINTS AND GUM, handheld games w/ batteries, cards, music CD's and movie CD's, he also likes books on tape (he is a history nut, if it has to do with a war then he will enjoy it!).
Last trip Rob took to Iraq what the soldiers enjoyed MOST of all were the Christmas decorations and miniature Christmas trees that were sent. This time I am hoping that you could find room in your hearts and packages for 1 small gift for a male or a female soldier (please note on wrapped package), 1 miniature Christmas tree with ornaments and a Christmas card signed by you , 1 pair of mittens or gloves to be handed out to the Iraqi children in their neighborhood. Address it to ANY SOLDIER AT 4/25.
If you have any friends or other family members, work places, classrooms, GIRL SCOUTS/BOY SCOUTS/EAGLE SCOUTS (Nick and all of the MAGGARD BOYS I am counting on you to figure out a way to collect up a ZILLION pairs of mittens) and churches that would be interested in sending these types of Christmas packages, please give them a BIG heart felt hug from me!
Christmas time is by far the hardest time for the soldiers to be away from home.
THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY FOR THEIR PRAYERS FOR ROB AND HIS FELLOW SOLDIERS AT 4/25, IN IRAQ AND ALL THE SOLDIERS AROUND THE WORLD! THEY ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Mr. and Mrs. Tainish, Rob says HELLO, and I think you and Dave do AMAZING work! THANK YOU FOR HELPING ALL OF THE MILITARY FAMILIES IN NEED.
